In April 2011, the Animal Legal Defense Found and Riverside County residents sued the city of Palm Springs alleging abuses at the city’s shelter and improper use of the term “no kill.” A settlement is now being entered in California Superior Court to resolve the suit. The settlement will ensure that homeless animals in Palm Springs will receive veterinary care and accurate shelter reporting as required by California’s Hayden Law. It also prohibits the shelter from using the term “no kill.” To read more go here: http://www.aldf.org/article.php?id=2093.
