Jackie McConell, a prominent Tennessee Walking Horse trainer, has been permanently banned from the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration and removed from its Hall of Fame. McConnell and two of his associates have been charged with more than 50 violations involving “soring” of horses, in violation of the Horse Protection Act of 1970. McConnell’s plea deal and will keep him out of prison, although he may be facing substantial fines. The Humane Society of the United States’ incriminating footage of McConnell was recently broadcast on ABC News’ “Nightline.” http://www.necn.com/05/23/12/Walking-horse-show-bars-trainer-for-life/landing_nation.html?&apID=d16d3662ab6b4440876f6a3421e2aba9&
